Follow the Build Part II

Posted by REEF Cape Cod's Home Builder on Tue, Aug 28, 2018

Part two of our follow the build series where we discuss the planning, permitting and some of the decisions that are made as part of the custom home design and building process. Since this project is in a flood zone, there were some special considerations given to site design, and overall home design to meet both the FEMA flood zone requirements, and the aesthetic requirements of the Old King's Highway Historic District.

This is a great example of how a well planned project can be executed quickly with exceptionally high quality using a panelized framing method that works well in almost every custom home project.

Posted by REEF Custom Homes on Wed, Jan 27, 2016

What is a HERS energy rating? Why should my home be energy rated? How do I get a HERS rating?

As if there wasn't enough to know and consider when building or buying a new home...welcome the HERS rating. Actually the HERS index has been around for quite a while. It is the standard by which a home's energy efficiency is measured.

Every home that REEF builds is energy rated, so it's part of our daily life. Here's an easy way to get up to speed on energy efficiency ratings:

Newest Architectural Products

Posted by Matthew Teague on Thu, Dec 08, 2011
So this is one of my favorite times of the year, when everyone comes out with their predictions and evaluations on the best products, trends, and ideas in our business.  Here is the 2011 product review by Architectural Record: hhttp://archrecord.construction.com/products/productreports/2011.asp  Now some of these products are not directly related to the residential construction, remodeling and renovation business. However, you will see these ideas translated into residential styles and trends over the next few years.
